OUR STORY

Hello! We are Ryan and Jenn, husband and wife and the proud owners of The Cabyn, located in downtown Baker City, Oregon. At its opening, we each brought 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry. After working in various restaurants and bars across Oregon and Idaho, we saved up enough to turn our dream into reality.

Over the past 15 years, our vision culminated into what you see today—a cocktail bar with exceptional drinks and an equal emphasis on exceptional food. At The Cabyn, we have a strong focus on our favorite spirits: tequila and whiskey. Our extensive collection features well over 100 bottles of each, offering a flavor adventure whether you prefer it neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail.

We genuinely care about our community, your health, and the quality of flavor, which is why we strive to source high-quality ingredients. Most of our menu items are made from scratch, including freshly squeezed juices and no pre-made mixers for our cocktail program. Our food menu is designed to be shared tapas-style, but if you prefer to dine in a more traditional manner, that’s perfectly fine too! Many of our dishes are served in smaller portions, allowing us to provide high-quality ingredients without breaking the bank. This approach also gives you the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes with us because variety is the spice of life!

You might wonder why we chose the name The Cabyn with a “Y.” The “Y” symbolizes the whimsical nature of our food, beverages, and atmosphere—along with the character of the people who work here. People frequently ask us, “Why do something like this in Baker City?” Our answer is simple: whY not? We love the community and mountain life in Baker City and its surrounding areas.

Our goal at The Cabyn is to provide what we believe to be the best cocktails and food in Baker City. Our creations blend familiar flavors and dishes with regional and international inspirations. You work hard for your money, and we strive to ensure you get the most out of your experience with us. Cheers!
